Pinewood Derby

This last week, Sister Conner was there to assemble the mural that we  all shared in creating.

And then it was on to the pInewood Derby. Adam Holman together with his friends and family members, set up the track and took charge of the evening racing.
Four people at a time got to race. They made popcorn for us from a popcorn machine. They even had medals for each racer! Then we watched Herbie the Love Bug! It was so great!

Pinewood Derby Cars and Art

It's time to prepare for our annual Pinewood Derby and this past week we were busy painting our cars and getting them ready. Special thanks to Adam Holman who organized the event as a project towards acquiring his Eagle Scout Award. He made sure that all of the cars were cut and showed up with family and friends and all of the supplies needed to paint the cars. They'll be ready to roll next week when we have the Derby.

And if that wasn't enough fun, Sister Diane Conner, a chalk artist, came and showed us some of her amazing work and had us each color a small section of a mural that we'll hopefully have on display next week. We can hardly wait to see the finished project.

All in all a very busy and fun night.
