July 4th was still two days away, but that didn't stop our SNAP
friends from celebrating with great style and enthusiasm. What an
evening this turned out to be! The hall was filled to overflowing
because the Timpview High School Band joined us for our patriotic
activity. We made holiday-themed decorations and accessories to use in
our own parade, and then we were joined by the band as we made two
circuits around the Locust Lane Chapel. Family and friends came to watch
and everyone had a great time. There were nice cold Popsicles waiting
for us at the end of the parade on a warm but beautiful evening.
And a happy Forth of July to you, too
The Timpview band made it a big crowd
Stripes for the flag
Adding some stars
Three-corner hats
Red white and blue balloons
T for Timpview
Sister Johns with visitors from Arizona
A bit of crepe paper for decoration
Sister Hawkinson is the balloonmeister
Brother and Sister Werner arranged for the band to come
A little glue right here will do the trick
The latest in balloon-hat fashion
Crepe paper adds a festive touch
This banner will lead the parade
These will be great
Making patriotic vests with a grocery sack
How about that?
Brother Santiago passes out flags
In the lap of friendship
Hat: check, flag: check, balloons: check
All tricked out and ready to roll
Okay, let's line up
These folks are waiting for the parade to begin
Excitement is building
Here we go
We were happy to meet Joseph, a new youth leader
Sister Burns is great
Better than the Freedom Festival parade
The band was terrific
The drum corps kept us moving
Bother Welsh was as good as an amusement park ride
Two laps around the church
These guys made the parade the best
A beautiful evening for a parade
Popsicles all around
I know, right?
And a happy Forth of July to you, too
Thanks to all the leaders, the Werners and the Timpview band, Sister Hawkinson, and everyone who made this a really wonderful evening. We had a great time.
