On 10 September, our SNAP friends became pioneers as they joined in a fun pioneer trek led by Sister Woodard and her friend Sister Paulos. Everyone was given a name tag with the name of an actual pioneer. After meeting in the gathering room, we trekked outside to various stations set up to represent important points along the pioneer route. We collected beads along the way to fashion necklaces while we enjoyed delicious homemade bread. We finished the trek in the gathering room, which, magically, became the Salt Lake Vallley.

Sister Paulos with a picture of the Nauvoo Temple
Ready for the hardship shown in the pictures?
Sure, why not?
The headgear will help
Or maybe you can use it as neckgear
Good idea!
Or it can be used to protect from dust (or rob a bank?)
These hardy pioneer women are all set to go
The trek begins
Happy trekkers
One step at a time
Nebraska
Everybody gather around
Looking for things to make necklaces
Back up the hill with help from friends
We like to help each other
May I take your arm?
Visiting as we go
A good hat helps
Still in Nebraska
Gathering beads
Nebraska is a long state
The river is cold and filled with ice
Wyoming: getting closer
A place to rest and regroup
Wyoming
Stringing beads...
Can be a happy activity
Or a serious activity
Or one of great concentration
And we were pleased to be here
We all felt the same
Finally in "Salt Lake"
Thanks for the fun evening
The webmaster would like to thank Brother Leishman for taking all the great pictures, and we would all like to thank Sister Woodard and Sister Paulos for their good planning and hard work.
