Irish Easter

Thursday night was Saint Patrick's Day and our SNAP friends all showed up wearing green to make some fun Easter preparations. There were printed Easter eggs to decorate with tissue paper, chow-mein  noodle nests to fill with eggs, real eggs to color, and cups to be decorated and filled with potting soil and grass seeds for a growing green Easter surprise.

Sister Burns Irish mustache was awesome!

 Sister Woodard explaining the activity

Brother Welsh is "helping" Sister Taylor mix butter, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and
chow-mein noodles for our nests

Step right in for Easter nests

Wash your hands before you touch food

No problem, I like clean hands

Sisters Taylor and Leishman dropped the warm nest mix on waxed paper

 Shape it like this

Then make a depression for the eggs

This stuff is a bit sticky

 Yeah, STICKY!

But in the end, they look pretty good

 And they are remarkably tasty

A bit of tissue, a little glue, and a twist of an eraser

 That's how you do it

 Sister Chambers explains

 That's gonna be good

 Good times

VoilĂ : there you have 'em

 Decorating cups for planting

The pipe cleaners will make handles

 Brother Burns plays Father Earth

A little water will get the seeds started

 All ready to grow

 Eggs by the dozens

If you don't want to color eggs, you can just color

 Hey, how about that?

Brother and Sister Paxman were the egg-meisters

 Good enough to eat

Brother and Sister Holbrook from West Point Utah visiting with Elder Johns -- we missed Sister Johns and hope she is getting used to her spiffy new bionic knee

We all had a great time and appreciate the hard work that makes these fun activities possible.
