Outdoor Water Games

The rain stopped just in time for our outdoor water activity on Thursday, 11 June, and it turned out to be a beautiful evening. After gathering in the Locust Lane building, we crossed the parking lot to the pavilion for some good clean fun with water. The party started with a frozen t-shirt contest. The winner is the first person to get the thing unfolded and on. It is much harder than you might imagine. We separated into smaller groups and enjoyed several types of water games. Toward the end of the evening there was a water-balloon launch presided over by Brother Leishman. Before calling it a night, there was time for a couple of more games. At Grizzly Rapids in Disneyland's California Adventure, there is a sign that reads, "You will get wet; you may get soaked." That describes our activity perfectly.

How about I make a short speech before we get started here?

It was Cami who actually got us started

 SNAP friends

Let's head over to the pavilion

The cheering section for the frozen-shirt contest

It took some good hard work to get these open

 First one shirted

 It's almost on

Soaking in water works, but that shirt is pretty cold

A frozen shirt is pretty awesome

 Done!

Fill the cup, but don't spill

That mighty blast of water will send those balls flying

 Dribble, dribble, drench

 Yup, Brother Burns got drenched

Somebody wasn't interested in getting wet

 Run!

Roll the right number and splash the water

 Let 'er roll

 Ready to launch

 Ready to catch

 Heads up! Here it comes!

This was no problem for a basketball whiz

 Slam "dunk"

 Wet? You bet!

Say the right answer and you'll get it in the face

Sister Taylor gets back what she gave

Pouring blind; you'd better be a good catch

The nice thing about water is that it dries

Thanks to Sister and Brother Leishman for planning such a fun activity. The evening ended up beautiful in spite of nasty weather predictions, and we had a great time. We are now looking forward to next week's barbeque with our fathers.
